He closed his eyes tight, bringing a hand up to quickly banish the tears. He took a deep, silent breath and let it out slowly. He hadn't noticed she'd asked him if he was ok until he looked up and saw her staring at him. Then it clicked that she had spoken. "I'm fine," He said quickly, glancing away. "How old are you?" He asked, trying this best to change the subject.
He glanced over to the door as a drunk lady clambered out, walking around and then walked down the sidewalk. He raised a brow as she swayed back in forth, and just shook his head. He was trying to forget about what he had just been upset over, so he glanced back at Hayley for an answer.

Lucky for him Hayley got distracted sup easy and the drunken women seemed to tickle her funny bone. She smirked lightly as she watched her closely, almost falling with every step. As she stumbled away Hayley giggled lightly but held back a laugh. Glancing back to Jesse she looked blank for a moment.
"Huh...oh right." She said only just figuring out what he had asked. Her mind wasn't exactly on him for a moment but it soon switched back, rather easily actually. "I'm sixteen." She said simply in a cheery sort of tone. "How old are you?" She returned the question. Her head titled lightly as she leaned back against the wall and stared at the damp floor from the earlier rain.

He just watched her, sighing. He nodded at her answer, he loved it when he was 16. He learned to actually drive without killing anyone, and thats the year he tried to kill his counselor. Haha. He actually jumped across the table at him, too.
"Seventeen," He said smoothly, now clearing himself up and gathering the courage to look at her for more than 2 seconds. He kept a steady gaze on her face, wanting to continue the conversation. "So what do you do for fun around here?" he asked, cringing at the thought of having 'fun'. He'd never had actual fun, really.

Hayley still couldn't drive. It wasn't that she couldn't, she just didn't want to. After driving her Dad's car into a brick wall which she got into deep shit for she was done with the whole driving thing. Her family didn't consider her stable enough to drive but to be honest neither did she. Still, she managed to get some form of exercise walking everywhere especially when most places she went it required her to take one of her several guitars.
She nodded lightly to his answer. At his question she smiled lightly thinking. Fun? She had never really thought of what she did for fun really. She never really did anything hoping that it would be fun, some things just kind of turned out to be fun. Of course she had her passions like anyone though. "Personally I mostly stick to music for fun...it's what I spend most of my time doing. Writing, Playing...Listening. Anything really. Oh If you've got a dorm sometimes there are pretty cool parties on floors some nights. Some of them suck though, especially the plastic's parties." She laughed lightly. "What sort of stuff are you into?" She figured if she found out a little more about him she could figure out what she could mention.

He just smilled, listening to her quietly. "I scream" he said softly, taking intrest in the fact that she herself was into music. He hadn't done it alot, but he had been told he was pretty good. "I haven't done it alot, but people say I'm good" he said, smilling. The smile only showed for around 4 seconds then faded back to the straight face he didn't feel awkward making.
"I also draw, and... thats about it" he said, noticing himself getting alittle more talkative around the girl.

Hayley looked impressed. Anything to do with music she could rant on for hours although she made an attempt to cover up her enthusiasm for it and attempted not to spazz out. "Really? Cool, I sing but I can't scream for crap, It screws up my voice and then I loose it for like a week." She smiled, the last time Hayley had decided to do a song with any amount of screams in it, it really messed her up for a while. Sure, the had a pretty powerful voice for such a small girl but screaming was out of the question for her. If she ever did a song with screaming in now she would poke one of the band members and force them to instead. "Hey...you should play some stuff on an open mic night so i can see what it's like. They have them either here or in time every week or so." She nodded to confirm.
"Drawing? Cool, do you take art at school?" She questioned with equally keen interest. She was more into photography herself.

He just watched, nodding slightly. "Alright," he agreed, not worried one bit about singing infront of anyone. He loved it, it was like... what he did when he was stressed I guess you could say. All he did when he skated was bust his ass if he was mad, so he stayed away from that often. "No," he said, biting his lip "I'm not good enough" he said, sighing. As a matter of fact, he was good enough, he just thought he wasn't. He glanced up to her, tilting his head to see her reaction. Most people didn't care this much about what he liked to do, it was all so new to him.

She smiled. Hayley loved watching people sing, everyone seemed to have their own style, their own habits. You could tell a whole lot about someone by the way they performed, it was a simple case of looking at the way they stood, the interaction with the crowd and even simply how the crowd reacted. Hayley had always been judged as being highly energetic especially with her band. She hardly even stayed in one spot for a second but that was mostly her love for performing and the fast pace of the majority of the music she wrote.
She laughed lightly. "That has to be a lie!" With a shake of the head she rolled her eyes. "I can only draw anime and manga crap but I still took it and getting half decent grades as well." Hayley shrugged lightly. "What sorta stuff you do draw, still life, portrait?" She was obviously interested as he also seemed to be becoming more social talking about the things he liked.

He just bit his lip, then let it go. "Uhm, just whateve rI feel like, usually" he said. "I can draw anything, I'm not good at drawing portraits but I'm good at anime and stuff" he said, smilling for the first time in ever. He looked up, the smile still on his face. If anyone could get his attention by talking to him it would be about music and art.
"I use to draw a lot, when my father was yelling I'd lock myself in my room and sing or draw" he explained, but shut himself up. He couldn't trust her yet, not with that.

Hayley smiled and nodded slightly. "Yeah, I always get bogged down with people's faces. Anime I can draw though aswell. Not exactly the best but I don't know. I guess anything I draw or doodle comes out like something drawn by Roman Dirge." Hayley adored Dirge, he was a great writer and illustrator. She had followed the Lenore comics for years and owned the majority of his other short stories. She practically worshiped the guy.
Her head titled thoughtfully a moment as she nodded slowly. She was used to getting yelled at through a door, usually locked to her bedroom. Instead of listening she would be busy played guitar, plugging in her electric would always annoy him most when she was able to drown him out. "Yeah...kind of eases anything you're feeling at the time I guess." She shrugged lightly.
