Hayley sat on the couch, it seemed pretty empty about and none of her friends were in as of yet so she couldn't really start any great socializing for the day, instead she was forced to sit and amuse herself. Or at least that was her excuse for sitting around doing nothing. Her small frame of just over five foot was clad in a pair of black drain pipe jeans and a gray t-shirt that had the words 'to write love on her arms' printed across it in bold black letters. Her shoes were rather bright and an eye catching orange to match her neon hair. On her lap sat an acoustic guitar that was a faded orange color and had RIOT! doodled onto it. Either this girl matched her accessories too well or she just liked orange. It was the latter really...incase you couldn't tell.
Strumming softly she yawned. It was two in the afternoon, pretty damn early for the late riser. Her head rested back against the back of the couch her soft random strumming turned into a tune. Unlike usual it wasn't a song that was just in her head, it was one of her latest, happy chirpy ones. Humming at first she didn't seem to mind the people walking past as she began to sing but quietly just to amuse herself. "The way your words keep me in line I know what I'm here for, Waking up to the green of your eyes, Is something I'll get used to
Do, do, do, do, do, do do do, You'll never know I'm after you, Do, do, do, do, do, do do do, You'll never know.
And you smell like How angels oughta smell, And you look like, Your ready to go." [/blockquote] song:: 'hold my hand' new found glory

Kayley sighed. She was absoloutley tired even though it was two in the afternoon. Today she was wearing a pair of black skinnys, a long hoody which was striped black and white and black and white converses. For some reason today Kayley felt like wearing black 'n' white. She was holding her iPod and her earphones were in her ears; she slowly made her way to the student lounge humming the tune to the song she was listening to. Kayley flicked a few bits of hair out of her face before opening the door to the student lounge. She walked in and looked around and noticed Hayley. She smiled. Kayley walked to wear Hayley was sitting and flung herself onto the couch. "Hiya Hayley" she said running a hand through her hair and taking her earphones out. "Ooo nice outfit, it's nice 'n' bright" Kayley added smiling. She liked Hayley because of her exotic colours she always wore and her birght orange hair. But Kayley loved her black hair too; that's why she sticks to black.
((Sorry, I have to go.))

Hayley glanced up and paused her singing as Kayley walked in. She flashed a bright smile as always and gave an enthusiastic, "Hey." It was strange for her to be so awake and alert at this time in the 'morning' usually she was half asleep listening to her iPod. But today she had dosed herself up on lots of coffee to make her somewhat more perky.
Although she stopped her singing, seeing as it would be rude to ignore and continue her eyes were still down at her guitar. She continued to play but stupidly soft. Hayley was trying to figure out how to arrange the song, especially the guitar in it to make it somewhat work. It had to be happy and bouncy because it was just one of those songs but it had to be sweet, because of the stupidly sweet lyrics she had drawn up for it. Really, she always had to make things harder for herself. Glancing down slightly at her outfit she had forgotten what she put on, Hayley usually lived in her vast assortment of t-shirts. Each with a different image of slogan on it.
Her outfit itself was a little more dull than usual but she often wore the colors black and gray, she would always throw in some bright neon accessories to liven it up though. Sometimes she went a bit crazy with it and looked a little too bright but she seemed to have done a pretty good job on it that morning. A wide grin tugged through her expression. "Thanks. It was dark out this morning and I wanted the cars to see me." When she was a kid her brother would always tell her to wear bright colors in the dark. Although this wasn't the case today she found it a rather amusing reason for her colors. "I like yours, very vintage like." She grinned pointing out her choice of colors rather than the clothes.

Kayley smiled and stretched her legs out infront of her. She ran a hand through her again before leaning back on the couch. "Eh, that's a good idea. It is quite dark this morning I know" Kayley replied as she looked out through the large window in the room. It was dark and gloomy outside, little droplets of rain were falling onto the window ledge too. "Thanks, this was all I could find in the morning" she replied looking down at her iPod and switching it off. She had been given it for her sixteenth birthday and had kept it since then. "So how have you been since the last time I saw you, which was about yesterday" Kayley asked stifling a yawn at the end of her question. Kayley couldn't wait till Christmas she was getting a new guitar and she would also be going to watch her mum again in a concert. She smiled at the thought of this but then turned back to face Hayley.

Hayley stared up at the ceiling, she hardly every looked directly at people when talking to them. It wasn't a confidence thing since she seemed to have that in mass but it was just one of the little habits she had picked up and couldn't really get out of. Laughing lightly at her question Hayley shrugged. "Since yesterday?...Ok I guess, bit rushed though. My ferret got lost and I got shouted at by next door because it ended up in her bed...oh and I have a pretty crap hangover this morning. I played at open mic at some dingy old coffee house last night then got hammered with a few other people who were there." She grinned. Hayley had yet to eat anything that day, she woke up late and she felt sick just looking at food. Her skeletal figure showed her not to be much of an eater anyway but she had gotten over the harsher times of not eating for days on end. She now had to keep up energy to save it for performing and all that.
"How about you? Done much?" She said with a lightly titled head and flashed a smile. Getting bored of strumming her guitar she slid it onto the floor. Hayley had a vast collection of guitars mostly crammed in her dorm room, she used to work several jobs just to even be able to get them. She absolutely adored them. Hayley wasn't so much looking forward to Christmas, she liked the season because everyone seemed to get happy and there were loads of parties but she hadn't come to expect any gifts, especially from family.

Kayley shrugged a little then sighed. She looked around the room and then to the door when a few 'Plastics' walked in. Kayley glared at them but then went back to her conversation with Hayley. "Well, I didn't do much apart from a bit of cross-country practice and some guitar practice" she replied fidgeting with bits of her hair. Christmas struck her mind again. "What did you wish for this christmas then?" she asked with a slight chuckle at the end. Kayley knew she was going to get a guitar but apparently she was getting another suprise gift. She had tried to squirm it out of her grandparents and mother but they hadn't even said a word to her. The answer always was 'You'll have to wait until Christmas to find out'.

Hayley watched slowly as the group of girls walked in, as they always seemed to look down on anyone else Hayley seemed more amused to this than anything else. She wasn't known for her bad tempered ways since when she was in a foul mood she stayed out of the way. To the dirty looks she got the girl simply flashed a friendly grin in return to which they looked offended by. She knew it would have that effect but you could say it was Hayley being the bitchy one. Clearly they were just a little stuck up.
"Cross country?" She questioned with a raised brow. "But it's freezing and...what posses you to do that. Isn't running bad enough let alone in the freezing cold." She shocked her head and laughed lightly.
"Meh." Hayley shrugged. She was never entirely open about her family history in fact she never spoke about her family, if she mention anyone at all it was always her older brother. She expected nothing and would wind up with nothing, her father saw it good enough to be paying to keep her in school...thoushands of miles away. There was nothing like paying your kid to keep then away from home to show a little love. To be honest though Hayley wasn't overly fond with him either and so she was perfectly happy to have moved away. "Just not to pass out on a sidewalk again..that'd be nice." Hayley smirked. She always made a joke to cover it up, habit really but last year she had practically passed out on the sidewalk. One of her friends had to drag her home to which she crashed on their couch. "How about you?"[/blockquote]

Kayley watched as Hayley sent the plastics a freindly grin. She smirked slightly at their looks. "Who cares if it's cold? I seriously dont. Running isn't bad for you, where'd that come from?" Kayley asked reffering to the fact that since when did people think running was bad for you? It was one of the best excerises whether it was warm or cold. "Oh come on, tell me. Santa won't send you what you want" she replied flicking back a few bits of random hair. She sat up straight on the couch then sighed. "Okay, I'm getting a new guitar and apparently I'm getting a suprise present" she replied emphasising the word suprise. Kayley wished she knew what it was but then if she did it wouldn't be a suprise anymore, would it?

Hayley laughed brightly and shrugged. "I don't know, it's just running. The same repetitive motions over and over again. Drunkenly dancing is the only exercise I do...and singing if that counts. Healthy like a potato." She smirked and nodded once as if her argument couldn't be challenged. Surprisingly Hayley was actually rather active, she only ever ran in the summer but that was usually just messing around with friends in running across the field after stealing their shoes.
She smiled lightly. "Santa doesn't like me it seems, I haven't gotten stuff from him for years." She laughed and just pouted for a moment. "Oooh do you know what make guitar your getting?" She said with her eyes bright and questioning. "Surprise...surprises are always fun!"

"Running is part of my life aswell as music, so for now it's just too hard to subtract that running from my life" she said glaring at the 'Plastics' who were now glaring back at her. Kayley turned back to face Hayley. "You know, running isn't all that bad. It's just that sometimes you get so tired and all that" Kayley added. She was split into quaters, one quater being taken over by music, the other running and athletics and the last two had been taken over by art and acting. Kayley made herself comfortable on the couch. "Santa likes everyone, you just have to wish harder every year and he'll get you what you want" she said in clear voice. "I don't know what type but my mum said she's getting me a good one" she replied slightly proud she had a mother who had the same intrest as her.

Hayley laughed. "Don't get me wrong It's a good thing, great in fact. I wish I could keep more fit and all that but I'm just too lazy really." She shrugged. Hayley always had other things on her mind. Unlike Kayley, she was devoted fully to her music. Eveything else was just little bits on the side that she amused herself with like her art. Music was her only true passion and she adored it, every last annoying moment of trying to fix a lyric that just didn't sound right, every little brain dead second. It seemed to give her a reason to be childish whilst singing rather deep and unusual songs. Pretty damn cool really.
She smiled. "I'll have to try again this year then, even though I'm lacking a chimney." Hayley laughed lightly and then fondly smiled. "Everyone's Mom should be as cool as yours!" Hayley had no clue what having a Mother even felt like, she was cared for by her Brother mostly due to her mother's death at birth. Since she never actually had a mother she didn't seem to feel the need for one and miss having one. You can't miss something that was never really there.

Kayley smiled. "I know what you mean, my grandparents used to think I'd faint if I kept on running around in circles. Some people are just like that?" she said with a slight shrug at the end. Kayley ran a hand through her black hair which looked silky but really wasn't. The only thing that was practically on Kayley's mind right now was home. She would most probably be going home for Christmas and boy wouldn't she be happy to see her 'suprise' gift. "Aren't you going home for Christmas?" Kayley asked raising one eyebrow. She leaned back on the couch again and sighed. "Yeah it's pretty cool having a mum like mine, she's a great singer and plays so many instruments" she said smiling slightly. "So what does your mum do?" she asked having no idea that Hayley's mother was dead.

Hayley sunk int eh chair to place her feet up on the table and due to her lack oh height she had to scoot down a fair bit. Once comfy she swung her legs up and hitched her feet on the table Closing her eyes for a moment she could feel the caffeine rush start to fade in her system. She needed to find that coffee machine soon, she was fighting a huge lack of sleep, a horrible hangover and the urge to throw up...still she looked perfectly normal for someone feeling so crappy. To the question she smiled lightly and shrugged. "I made a deal with my Dad to stay here for all the holidays he he payed to send me here. Probably wouldn't go back anyway, can't stand his bratty little kid." Hayley's light tone sounded like she was joking although she was far from. His child with his latest girlfriend was a brat the last time Hayley had seen him. Now she hadn't seen them all in almost half a year. The only thing she missed were her old friends.
"Really? Wow...what sort of stuff does she play?" Hayley seemed deeply interested in her Mother, simply because the fact that she played music and equally to find out what a Mother in general was like. Brushing back her hair that draped into her eyes she shrugged lightly. "I dunno. She died when I was born and my family never really spoke about her." Hayley knew hardly anything about her mother, she knew though that she looked like her which was a major reason her Dad disliked his child so much, she reminded him of his wife. She also had a few pictures but not even her brother would care to explain what she used to do, or even what she was like. Hayley soon looked deep in thought, maybe her Mom like music to, maybe that's where she got if all from.

Kayley smiled. She liked the idea of staying in school but she still wanted to go back home. "Y'know, if you do definately stay in school you could always come over to my place. Well not my place but my grandparent's place. You could meet my mum and her band mates" Kayley said smiling. She liked inviting people to her grandparent's place, especially when they met her mum; she was so enthusiastic and determined in music. "Yep. Well she does most of the singing but sometimes she plays guitars and drums" she said smiling at the thought of her mother when she used to carry big instruments home so Kayley could play them. A rush of guilt ran through Kayley; how could she be so stupid to ask that? "Im soo sorry Hayley. Seriously I am, I honestly didn't know" she replied with a innocent look.

Hayley smiled. "Cool really, that would kick ass, she sounds really cool." Always enthusiastic about meeting people especially people she thought may be pretty cool to meet. Hayley spent a whole lot of her time going to concerts and she had met so many bands now it was stupid. Usually you said the line 'yeah I'm in a band' and they just took straight to you. She had even hung out with cute is what we aim for. Not getting star struck though came with a whole damn lot of practice. She always felt to inadequate when playing live since all of the band were so young people assumed they weren't going to be very good or they got their mommy's to write the songs for them.
"Wow, so have you seen her play live?" Haley knew she probably had but she was still interested to know.
At the sudden change in her expression, she hated when people did the whole pity thing. It wasn't like Hayley really felt much for the whole thing. "It's fine, I really didn't expect you to know anyway. It's not something you broadcast." Looking awkward for a moment she then shrugged it off.
